KATY: The Musical had it’s first run at the Cultural Center of the Philippines’ Tanghalang Aurelio Tolentino (Little Theater) last January 17-27, 2013.

Due to it’s success, the musical is set to do a re-run on July 25 – August 4 this time at the Meralco Theater.

The cast of KATY was exclusively presented to selected press and media last May 22, Wednesday at the Mabuhay Restop Travel café in Rizal Park.

Isay Alvarez, Dulce, Lou Veloso, Gian Magdangal, Epy Quizon, Aicelle Santos, Tricia Amper-Jimenez graced the press-con and shared about what the audience can expect to this presentation.

At the press con Isay shared that there’s a lot of changes in terms of the beginning part and also at the way she changes her costumes. One of the things she was very thankful is having Tirso Cruz in the cast who really showed amazing performance during the last run.

It has not been shown to many of his TV and movie shows but Tirso did great in terms of singing onstage.

The lead stars were also proud about having Aicelle Santos who is now picking up success in the theater industry. She was shortlisted as one of the top seven finalists for the 2014 West End revival of “Miss Saigon”. Her performance in KATY is definitely a must see as well.

And of course credits to Mitch Valdes and Celeste Legaspi, who played Katy and Olivia in the musical’s original runs. As Isay recalls their performance she becomes more inspired to play the major role.

The play was written by Jose Javier Reyes, produced by Spotlight Artists Center, which originally staged in the ‘80s, chronicles the inspiring story of legendary jazz chanteuse Katy dela Cruz, who rose from the ranks to become one of the most illustrious, internationally-acclaimed and highest-paid performers of her time.

The original musical was with Celeste Legazpi and Mitch Valdez, under the captivating original compositions of ‘maestro’ Ryan Cayabyab.

From the 1930′s on wards, throughout a prolific career that stretched out to more than six decades, the iconic stage live wire endeared herself to both foreign and local audiences with her mesmerizing stage presence, classic style and elegance, as well as her playful wit and irreverence.

Feature in the re run is the music of the Big Band Era (Jazz), and the whole cast performs an ensemble of ‘old-school’ sing and dance jazz, broad way, vaudeville and cabaret routines.

7. It is near along Bus Terminals going to Batangas, Laguna and Quezon. Because the area is only at the center of Pasay you do not have to worry to look for bus travels.(not included in the race)

8. It is near Spada Pasay, a 24 hour massage near Buendia. They offer interesting massage packages both for male and female clients. (not included in the race)

9. And if you want to go a little bit far maybe you want to go to Ayala triangle and have your lover’s photo at the Make it happen, Make it Makati wall. Only 15 minutes far.

How did you started from scratch?

I started my blog, June of 2011 but I was not active that time and I don’t know what to blog and how I want my blog to be. I’m also having a hard time figuring out my niche that time because I want to blog so many things. Then a friend of mine suggested that why not to just make this blog a personal blog but it focuses on your adventures in fashion and also in your personal life. And at last  summer of 2012 I became active in my blog “post after post after post” and brands and pr’s started contacting me.

Fashion gives a certain amount of freedom to people and it allows them to be who they want to be.

How do you describe your style?

I call my fashion statement “unexpected” coz I want to entertain people through what I’m wearing. I really try my best not to stick with just one style. I always experiment and push myself to the limits.

Why Fashion?

I chose fashion as my niche because fashion is like an art, you can create and experiment out of it and also It’s like an extension of my personality. Fashion gives a certain amount of freedom to people and it allows them to be who they want to be.

I’m not really conscious with brands as long as it’s stylish and I feel comfortable wearing it.

How much does it really cost for an outfit?

The most expensive.. hmm… I spent around 8k for an outfit.

I am grateful for the opportunity to meet the bubbly and multitalented celebrity whom I only used to see on a local Sunday noontime show.

In an exclusive interview held at Dayrits Tomas Morato, Krista K talked about her experience competing for Miss International in China up to when she joined Julio Iglesias onstage during his 15-city world tour from 2010-2011.

Considering Iglesias as her mentor, Kleiner began writing her own songs while spending time on the plane with him travelling from one country to another, describing the experience as a state of bliss, feeling to be on top of the world, until such time she decided she wanted to have a song that convey those perfect moments.

Scheduled to leave for Malaysia to participate in a big musical event which will be joined by various well-known artists around the region, rumor has it that this stunner has been rapidly developing a huge fanbase in Malaysia since she launched her album there.

But I am also online during work hours but all of my activities are pretty much work related, I only have a several times checking my Facebook and Twitter.

I have three sources of internet connection: A DSL at home, A LAN server at the office and a 3G connection on my smart phone.

Since most of my bandwidth consumption is when I upload photos and videos so I make sure I do all at home.

March 16 – Seven finalists battle out using their outstanding culinary skills and talents at the cook-off happened at the GalaStars Culinary Studio of renowned Chef Sylvia Reynoso Gala in Pasig City.

Man are made with a brave-heart….out of the 7 lucky finalists, Mark Justin Tee (the only male), an HRM graduate in UP Diliman bested 6 contenders: 4 housewives and 2 Culinary amateurs.

At start , he had a bad thing because his hands got hurt by the knife he was using. He needed to use a glove and that slow down his preparation.

He cooked the very famous Tinolang Manok paired with the very filipino Cucumber Tinapa Roll.

He was the last participant to finish everything. He never gave up.

“Huli man daw at magaling, maihahabol pa rin” Mark was very thankful to the judges who give them high scores during the judgement.

His total score was only a few points best than the second placer.

Mark won a total of 500,000 worth of kitchen showcase from Melawares, Bestware, Urban Kitchen, Perfect Dining and Sodastream.

THE WEB MAGAZINE: How were you discovered by Backroom?

Jayke: One day po I sang sa Food Republique and Tito Boy Abunda was there. I was introduced to him and later on I asked him if he can attend my birthday party.

I became very happy when he came and then I started singing to him po.

TWM: When you perform who chooses your songs?

Jayke: Usually my producer Arnold Reyes and sometimes my handler Dale Magdangal suggests. But being a backroom artist gusto ko may teamwork so I consult everything with them when it comes to the choice of songs.

When I perform naman sa mall shows gusto ko mga happy. It’s a mix of love songs in my album and happy songs.

When we were dining at Shakeys I noticed that Jayke never asked for a cold water or iced tea but requested for a hot tea instead. She is very careful when it comes to what she eats or drink.

TWM: How do you take extra care of your voice?

Jayke: I don’t eat chocolates, I don’t drink cold, I don’t eat ice cream and I don’t eat dairy before I sing.
